Hilda Baci to Attempt World’s Largest Pot of Nigerian Jollof Rice at Eko Hotel

Lagos is set to witness another historic culinary feat as celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, prepares to cook what she describes as the world’s largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice.

The much-anticipated event, tagged “Gino World Jollof Festival with Hilda Baci”, will take place on Friday, September 12, at Eko Hotel and Suites, and is expected to draw a massive crowd of over 20,000 participants.

The Giant Pot Arrives

In a video shared on Instagram, Baci unveiled the enormous pot measuring six metres wide and six metres tall, which had just been delivered to the venue. Another clip on her Snapchat story captured a more emotional moment — Hilda and her mother praying together at the site ahead of the record-breaking attempt.

250 Bags of Rice for a Historic Jollof

According to Baci, she will be using 250 bags of rice in collaboration with seasoning and culinary giant Gino to create the massive dish. Guests will not only witness the historic moment but also enjoy the meal for free.

> “You’re certainly not going to be paying for the amazing meal that I’m going to make for you,” Hilda reassured her fans.

A Festival for Food Lovers

The event kicks off at 9 a.m. and promises to be more than just about food — it is a celebration of Nigerian culture, unity, and the love for the iconic jollof rice. Food enthusiasts, influencers, and supporters from across the country are expected to gather for this one-of-a-kind festival.

Hilda Baci’s Journey with Records

Hilda is no stranger to making headlines. In May 2023, she cooked for 100 straight hours in Lagos, a marathon that earned her global recognition and a spot in the Guinness World Records.

With this new challenge, she is once again putting Nigerian cuisine on the global map, proving that jollof rice is not just food, but a cultural statement.
