In a major move that could reshape Nigeria’s energy landscape, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced it will begin the direct distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to filling stations across the country starting Monday, September 15, 2025.
According to a statement by the company, this new initiative is aimed at easing the supply chain and reducing the retail cost of petrol for Nigerians. The refinery revealed that the gantry price has been slashed to N820 per litre, paving the way for significantly lower pump prices across key states.
New Pump Prices Across Nigeria
Lagos and South-Western states: PMS will retail at N841 per litre
Abuja, Rivers, Delta, Edo, and Kwara states: PMS will retail at N851 per litre
The company noted that the move will cut out middlemen, ensuring that filling stations across the nation have more direct access to supply while Nigerians enjoy more competitive prices at the pump.
This development marks a new phase in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector, as the Dangote Refinery continues to play a central role in bridging supply gaps, reducing costs, and strengthening energy security in Africa’s largest economy.
With direct distribution now in play, Nigerians are hopeful that long queues, inflated costs, and erratic supply will soon become a thing of the past.
