2027: Aminu Tambuwal Vows to Work for Tinubu’s Defeat

Former Sokoto State governor and ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, has declared his full involvement in efforts to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Tambuwal, a key figure in the opposition coalition, described the move as a “national consensus” rather than a sectional or regional agenda.

Speaking on the plan, he said:

> “I am fully involved in a process—democratically and lawfully—that will end, by the grace of God, in sending this government out of office. With the help of God and Nigeria, we will send these people out of office.”

Tambuwal also dismissed suggestions that the coalition’s mission is a pro-northern agenda, stressing that the project is about rescuing Nigeria as a whole.

The statement adds more weight to the growing realignments within the political space as opposition leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
